Athens, Georgia – Not much going on today but me being a mild anxiety attack wearing a two piece navy Miro printed linen pajama set with a sleeveless beige turtleneck beneath. Here, let me remove all vestiges of sexuality from my indoor-outdoor brunch look. Head to toe my entire ensemble beat yours up in three steps. To tamp down whatever is troubling me, here are this afternoon’s selections from my collection of hot wax:
Funk or Walk [1978/ Atlantic] – The Brides of Funkenstein
Stars [1979/ Fantasy] – Sylvester
Slayed? [1972/ Polydor] – Slade
1970s vintage Young Edwardian burgundy cocktail dress

Step Lamp [The Granite]
1970s style Gold Metallic Snake ‘Patch’ sandals [Charlotte Russe]
Athens, Georgia – Black. White. Color schemes. Go with the flow. Today selected vinyl for listening. One to rock me. One to groove to. One to melt into.
Bad Company’s debut album was chosen with fond memories of when I was a heavy listener of WFMU’s The Best Show. It’s great radio if you’ve never heard it and the album is straight up 70s beer drinking hard rock. Yoko Ono [like Zappa] is an artist which I’m finally able to listen to. I knew “Walking On Thin Ice”. I was perfectly fine with this [because it’s a phenomenal song] but now I need more. The full picture. I love Fly. Last but not least, Black Ivory’s Hanging Heavy. Great tracks, solid album. Bought it for “Mainline”, their 1977 underground Disco hit. Sampled by some [i.e., Deee-Lite’s “Power of Love”]. A dance until you are pouring in sweat production – if ever. Henceforth, my handfan. Crack + pop.

Athens, Georgia – We are in the dead of summer. I’ve got blocks of ice in my handbag. I am in a favorite vintage frock. Everything is still. Waiting for a vigorous gust of wind, a cool breeze to lift me by this piece’s flouncy sleeves and carry me to where the sand meets the sea.
