Home For The Holidays: 2018

Thanksgiving, 2018: I made Thanksgiving dinner for three. It turned out great. I am still amazed how my mother could create a feast for more than half a dozen for the past several decades.

Christmas in The Carolinas was a very quiet one.

New Years Eve was not amazing. I drank far too much and missed giving or getting a New Years kiss. So silly.

Somewhere in The Carolinas – Above, are outfits I wore, rocked out and lived in throughout parts of 2018, in different sections of The U.S.A. Tried all black and white or all black minimalist looks but eventually the colors slipped back in to the mixture.

Next stop, style-wise, an old friend.

Honestly, I could stop buying and be completely satisfied with what I’ve amassed…but…I won’t.

Thank you for following.

More to come in 2019.

Alan “Moondog” Freed

Celebrating the life of American disc jockey, Alan Freed [b., December 15, 1921 – d., January 20, 1965]. Freed is known as The Father of Rock and Roll. During a time recording artists were segregated on the airwaves, Freed was one of the first white disc jockies to blend these hip, new sounds and artists with his blood, sweat and tears.

Three hearty howls for our man, Moondog…Alan “Moondog” Freed.

In Memoriam: Nancy Wilson

Nancy Sue Wilson [b. February 20, 1937 – d. December 13, 2018)] was an American singer whose career spanned over five decades, from the mid–1950s until her retirement in the early–2010s. She is known for her jazz and Soul recordings. I’ve picked her tune, Sunshine [1979], as a shining example of Wilson’s vocal dexterity.
