Antonio Lopez [b. February 11, 1943 – d. March 17, 1987] was a multi-talented Puerto Rican high fashion illustrator + photographer during the Swingin’ Sixties and throughout the Disco era [The 1970s]. He is most famous for his illustrated cover art for [the now defunct] Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine.
Somewhere in The Carolinas – Keeping it minimal and cool in an navy cotton oversized sack ankle length dress with twist-back [USWIMIE]. This is a favorite go-to piece in my closet.
Paired with today’s look, matte black 1950s style sunshades, black round wristwatch color-blocked in white, a black shiny bracelet, a black and white chunky bracelet and black oversized straw boater with grosgrain ties.
Rounding out my look is a black oversized canvas tote and a pair of black platform sandals [Loslandifen]. I grab my cane and I am off!
Somewhere in The Carolinas – Wandering the grounds of a mostly dilapidated and emptied shopping mall that looks to have been built in the late 1970s. Nothing gentrified here and, well, it is a breath of fresh air.
Today’s outfit was inspired by malaise I have been feeling. A touch moody. Human feelings. Color was needed here. I slipped into a silk-like evergreen loose calf-length dress [Vadim] and pointy toe red vegan leather boots [Qupid]. Cool looking and comfortable for the quickly rising pre-summer temperatures around the bend. The dress roomy enough for the entire entree I devoured at lunch with my dude. So nice.
Somewhere in The Carolinas – Summer is right around the corner and no one gets fussier than I do in the southern humidity and heat. As a fan of natural fibers, linen is definitely no stranger in my wardrobe. Linen is breathable and if steamed or pressed pulls ones’ look together. Add a cool drink and a shady nook and you are on your merry way…in style.
